Every now and again, your Favorite Catgirl finds news of a movie coming along sooooo downright weird and unbelievable that I just have to share the news…

In that vein comes this one…. “Negative Happy Chainsaw Edge”. Even better… Well Go USA have just announced they are going to be releasing this one on R1 DVD this March 30th.

They give us this synopsis to pique our interest… “One night in modern day Tokyo, Yosuke encounters Eri a beautiful girl in her school uniform and suddenly a surprising battle begins. Pitted against a seemingly immortal giant who brandishes a vicious chainsaw, Eri and Yosuke must come together and understand why this chainsaw wielding ghost continues to appear. Is he determined to end their life or simply communicate a dark message and the truth about Eri?”

Ghosts? Schoolgirls with crazy mad ninja skills?…. and Chainsaws? Oh.. yeah, Neko’s gonna have to see this one….. There’s even a Trailer available for it…. but if you wanna see that, then you’re gonna have to “Read On”…..

It’s Week 2 of our month long “Movie Review Marathon” celebrating all things spooky and scary, and time to see how I’m doing here at the ol’ Litterbox.

Well… we’ve got 7 reviews up, which means we’re a little behind but nothing that some diligent work can’t make right by the end of the month…. I just have to buckle down on my days off and get cracking.

Yep…. it’s been a busy week for this lil’ Catgirl. But there is a nice bonus coming up later in the month…. 2 Halloween Parties that I’ve already been invited to!! One at the house of Carolyn’s Department Head from the college, and another one on Halloween itself….. this one an honest to goodness costume party!! Yay!! I’m already sooo excited about the chance to “play dress-up” and….. I’m also happy that Carolyn has decided to be a sport and go to that one with me…. in costume too!!! It’ll be fun coming up with some sort of Theme costumes for us both…. Gosh, I’m such a silly lil’ dweeb about this sort of thing… Hehehehe!!

Hopefully this week will have me adding the following reviews:  From Indonesia, “Kuntilanak Kamar Mayat”, from Taiwan, “Invitation Only”, from India, “Raksha”, Thailand’s “Opapatika”, and…. another “Lil’ Kitten Classics” review for “Cat People”!!

Whew!! Looks like my DVD player is going to get a real workout!! If there is time in my hectic schedule, I’ll throw in a couple more just to hopefully let me pull ahead a bit…. (or at least get back even, Hehehehe!!) Wish me luck, o’ Gentle Readers!

No…no…. I’m not donning a red and white striped shirt and hiding in a biiiig crowd, but as some of you may have noticed, the Litterbox disappeared the last couple of days. Seems the hosting for Delirium Vault and the Blogs expired suddenly and only the intervention of our very own “guardian angel” has resurrected us from Internet Oblivion…..

As you might have noticed…. my review for “Martyrs” seems to be a victim of our hiccup…. I’ll have to check with folk to see if we can freely add new content safely during our switchover. Hopefully we’ll get things sorted all nice and proper and get back to normal soon…..

Remember how Neko had been wishing not too long ago, that “Hard Revenge Milly” had only been a wee bit longer… that we could have seen just a bit more about her and the possibilities of her story?

Apparently this lil’ Catgirl wasn’t the only one thinking it needed more… for news is out now that indeed such a sequel will come out this summer and it’s going to be titled “Hard Revenge Milly – Bloody Battle”.

The preliminary synopsis reads: “After Milly eliminates the Jack Brothers to avenge her family, a beautiful girl named Haru (played by Nao Nagasawa) approaches her for help avenging her own boyfriend. Milly initially brushes her off, but eventually recognizes her passion for vengeance and agrees to train her.

Soon, Ikki (Kazuki Tsujimoto) and his brother Huma (Rei Fujita), two of Jack’s former associates, arrive to take them on. Milly makes short work of their minions and knocks Huma out cold, but the steel-armed Ikki manages to injure her severely. Will she be able to survive and help Haru exact vengeance?”

There’s a nice Trailer available… but to see it and to learn more you’re gonna have to “Read On”, gentle visitors!

Yes… I know I promised you another review today, but it’s been a truly hard day at work, and now I’m looking at an even longer and harder day tomorrow. Seems we have a last minute booking for a luncheon party at the restaurant that I’ll have to go in and start on at 5 AM (on what should be my day off….. Aaauuugh!!)

I’m just too worn out and tired to finish my review for “The Magic Sword” right this moment…. (I know… I should have done more with it this weekend, but I was trying to tweak the look of the “Litterbox” and let time just slip away….)

If I’m lucky, I’ll be able to talk the other cook into switching days off with me, and I’ll be free on Wednesday when I’ll be able to do it justice…. So, please forgive this lil’ Catgirl… but I’ll make it worth it. Catgirl’s honor!!

Oooohhh!!! As you can see, this lil’ Catgirl’s been playing about with the look of the Theme here at the ol’ Litterbox. So… how do you like it gentle visitors? Isn’t it positively “Nekolishous!!”?

I’ve always wanted to add a nifty personalized banner like over at “Wise Kwai’s”, who’s blog has always inspired me with it’s clean and professional look. As you can see, I also stayed with the dark theme… (mostly so I wouldn’t have too much work re-doing all my posts…. (Shhhhh!!! I took the easy way out….Hehehehe!!)

I’ll probably go with it for at least the next couple of days till I decide if it suits me…. Neko feels soooo creative!! Yay!!

As recent visitors might have noticed, Neko has been toying about with the ol’ “Litterbox”, sprucing things up, tweaking the controls, and just generally trying to see what I can do to make the place feel more “lived in”….. so to speak. One of the new plugins I just installed has been a revelation of sorts for this lil’ Catgirl.

Thanks to “StatPress Reloaded” I now have a much better notion of exactly the sort of folk who drop by my lil’ place…. and a quick check back tells me there are a lot more nice folk reading my goofy ramblings than I ever thought possible. So…. as my way of saying “Hi”, here’s a quick mention of some of the other Blogs and people I’ve discovered linking to me and my hope that you all like what you’ve been reading!!

First up…. “Wise Kwai’s Thai Film Journal”…. the first to link me and a great place to check out for all the newest poop on Thai films and film culture if you haven’t done so already.

I seem to have quite the following in Thailand… there’s also the blog, Thaiallstars.net…. which seems to be a fan site for Thai soap operas and other Thai entertainment. A big “Howdy!” from the US of A!

Then, there’s Susie_Arabia, a Japanese Blog, that seems to be all about genre film and stuff very similar to my own lil’ “Litterbox”. I only wish I could read Japanese….. (Yes…Yes…. I know my mom tried to teach me, grandma too, but I was a stubborn child and never did pick it up…. I was a precociously willful lil handful back then. Sorry, mom…. you were right, I should have paid more attention….) So pleased to see I’ve a fellow film fan in the “Land of the Rising Sun”!!

Apparently, I even have some people in a Spanish language blog intrigued about this lil’ Catgirl… the good people at Club Arso, seem to follow and link my most recent Postings at their Blog. Their Blog is about Cosplay, comics, anime & manga, and even some movie stuff….. all in Spanish, I think…… D’oh!!. Sorry… this lil’ Catgirl hasn’t a clue what you’re writing but I’m pleased as punch to meet ya!

Last, but not least, there’s “Something To Sing About”, a Phillipine Blog about movies, Pop culture and the like, who seem to follow my RSS Feed and link my latest posts to his Blog. It’s in english language too… so I’ll have to check it out in the future! Thank you for showing interest in my humble abode!!

Sigh! It makes me feel all warm and happy to know I’m actually getting some real traffic through the place…. I had begun to think only Russian Spambots and the purveyors of herbal Viagra had discovered me….

Yep…. just when you think that there aren’t any new DVD’s out there on the horizon that have to go on your “Absolutely Must Have” List, along comes news like this.

It seems Mondo Macabro finally managed to find a print of “Veerana” to work with!! According to postings on their Blog, coming out soon from them is their “Bollywood Horror Collection Vol. 2″ featuring both the classic, “Veerana”, as well as the haunted house horror fest “Purani Haveli”… This disc had been promised once before, but then Mondo changed their minds after being unable to locate a suitable print of the complete film to do a decent restoration of.

Having finally located a Hindi copy with subtitles, I understood why. I had really been disappointed that Mondo wasn’t releasing theirs as I just knew it would be the definitive version to collect. Bummer….

But, just when all seems lost, it seems we get a second chance for goofy Bolly-Horror goodness! This one has finally been confirmed from Mondo’s Blog itself as having a Street date of March 31st. YAY!!!

This alone would be enough to have your favorite Catgirl Princess doing her patented “Happy Kitten Dance of Joy”, but wait…. there’s more!!

“Bollywood Horror Collection Vol. 3″ was announced at the same time, with a Street Date of May 8th… and will feature the combo of “Mahakaal” and “Tahkhana”, even more silly Hindi horror to delight and amuse!!

All I can say is…. “Thank you, thank you, thank you Mondo Macabro, and keep up the good work!!”

You can be certain that when it comes out, I’ll dust off my old review, and see how the new disc compares…. I can hardly wait!

Hehehehe!! Betcha THAT title got your attention!

Every now and then this lil’ Catgirl likes a film that tells the world that we girls can be sexy and, more importantly, still kick your ass if you don’t watch out. This has been a particularly good year for such movies, with the likes of “Chocolate”, “Machine Girl”, “Left For Dead”, “Punch Lady” and “Planet Terror” hitting DVD release. (And joining the pile of discs that teeter precariously next to my TV….)

But it looks like this year just might go out with a bang….a big BLOODY Bang. Coming this December might be the best of them all….“Bitch Slap”. Goodness!! That title alone is soooo “exploitative” that it just absolutely begs for a movie!!

How this one slipped under my radar, I’ll never know. I’m blaming the fact that it isn’t an asian film….. but I’m in the loop now.

The synopsis available reads: “Bitch Slap” follows three bad girls (a down-and-out stripper, a drug-running killer and a corporate powerbroker) as they arrive at a remote desert hideaway to extort massive booty from a ruthless underworld kingpin. Things quickly spin out of control as allegiances change, truths are revealed, other criminals arrive for the score, the fate of the world hangs in the balance and they are forced to confront a villain much worse than they ever expected… themselves. It’s the ultimate morality tale as, one by one, they realize the whole “she-bang” was a set-up and one of the film’s characters may not even be human…- moviesonline.ca
