Yep…. just when you think that there aren’t any new DVD’s out there on the horizon that have to go on your “Absolutely Must Have” List, along comes news like this.

It seems Mondo Macabro finally managed to find a print of “Veerana” to work with!! According to postings on their Blog, coming out soon from them is their “Bollywood Horror Collection Vol. 2″ featuring both the classic, “Veerana”, as well as the haunted house horror fest “Purani Haveli”… This disc had been promised once before, but then Mondo changed their minds after being unable to locate a suitable print of the complete film to do a decent restoration of.

Having finally located a Hindi copy with subtitles, I understood why. I had really been disappointed that Mondo wasn’t releasing theirs as I just knew it would be the definitive version to collect. Bummer….

But, just when all seems lost, it seems we get a second chance for goofy Bolly-Horror goodness! This one has finally been confirmed from Mondo’s Blog itself as having a Street date of March 31st. YAY!!!

This alone would be enough to have your favorite Catgirl Princess doing her patented “Happy Kitten Dance of Joy”, but wait…. there’s more!!

“Bollywood Horror Collection Vol. 3″ was announced at the same time, with a Street Date of May 8th… and will feature the combo of “Mahakaal” and “Tahkhana”, even more silly Hindi horror to delight and amuse!!

All I can say is…. “Thank you, thank you, thank you Mondo Macabro, and keep up the good work!!”

You can be certain that when it comes out, I’ll dust off my old review, and see how the new disc compares…. I can hardly wait!

Seems like I’m gonna live after all.

It took just over a week, and some gentle nursing by my friend Carolyn. She also did all my running around this last week for medicine and groceries and stayed over at my place for a couple days while I was reeeeaally bad off. But the worst is over. No more fever…. my achy body is shaky but better, and I’m blissfully “snot free” once again. Thank goodness!!

It’s been quite a few years since I was this ill. Carolyn said I was even a bit hallucinatory, delirious and downright scary one evening in the middle of it. I don’t remember a thing, but she said she was soooo close to just calling an ambulance and having me hospitalized…… That would have been fun for certain. I’m just glad she was willing to stick with me and see me through the bad stuff, and that’s why she wins this lil Catgirl’s BFF Award.

Whew!! So I’m back and ready for some action, and as you can see I’m even getting a couple of posts done today with the hope of using my last weekend away from work to catch up here at the Litterbox now that I’m outta bed. Hopefully this new burst of energy will stick with me and I’ll be able to get back to doing even more Reviews in the next day or so….

“Meow, Meow, for now!”

Every once in a while something odd pops up on this lil Catgirl’s radar…. and “Semum” is just such an example. Surprisingly enough, I actually do miss a few films now and again…. but not this one… Hehehehehe!!

So… anyway… “Semum” is the new horror film from “D@bbe” director Hasan Karacadag. Neko managed to catch that one, and although I’d heard about this new film, it sorta slipped past me on it’s way to DVD.

Then I heard it was out but… gasp… there would be NO English subtitles available for it. That sorta put it on the back burner for me, as I knew I’d find some subtitles for it eventually if an english friendly release didn’t come along first. But it seems the rumors were wrong…. “Semum” is available on Region 2 PAL formatted DVD and the ever so nifty English subtitles are along for the ride too. Yay!!!!

It’s time again for some Asian horror with a spicy curry flavor, this time out, it’s Ram Gopal Varma’s latest film, “Phoonk”, which I mentioned here at the Litterbox some months back. This one almost slipped on by me, and the DVD hadn’t shown up anywhere I usually grab my Indian DVD’s. But then…. out of nowhere, it turns up, at of all places, Amazon. There was no mention of subtitles….. and no amount of Internet searching could confirm them, but I took a chance anyway and grabbed it up before is mysteriously disappeared into the mists of legend, never to be seen again…..

Well, it finally arrived, and wonder of wonders, it was indeed gloriously subtitled into english!!! Yay!!! Since I hadn’t seen an Indian horror film in a while, I eagerly watched it that very evening. Is it the crazy Hindi creepfest I’ve been hoping for? Let’s check it out, shall we? (more…)

But I see it’s finally 2009, and it’s been far too long since I managed to post anything here at the Litterbox…..

Rather than set a new record and let the entire month of January slip by, I thought I’d at least make a quick post to let everybody know I was still alive…. although just barely.

Yep…. I’m suffering from my annual bout with the flu and I’ve finally reached that horrible point where even work is impossible. I knew I’d reached that when they just plain sent my lil’ butt home yesterday after taking just one look at me when I showed up for my shift on Monday.

I ache all over…. I’m cold and sore…. I’m sneezing and coughing constantly. Somehow, I’m producing nearly unbelievable amounts of mucus from my tender lil’ nose in a nonstop “snot-a-thon” of apocalyptic fashion.

In short…. I’m a physical wreck.

I’m making an effort to medicate and take the time to watch a few movies, but my ambition level is pretty low. Hopefully, as I feel better I’ll get back and finish off my next review…. waaaay overdue…. for the Hindi film “Phoonk” if the Spirits are watching over this lil’ catgirl.
